We can do it!

For every school in need, our goal is to provide a garden, hands-on training, curriculum aligned to national standards, tools, supplies, and strategies for summer garden maintenance. By partnering with local agricultural departments and organizations, we can offer educational workshops, field trips, and nutrition lessons aimed at teaching students how to reap the most from their harvest. Ultimately, we want the school garden harvest to be served in the cafeteria alongside locally-procured produce. Farm-to-school empowers children and their families to make informed food choices while strengthening the local economy and contributing to vibrant communities.

“When Richardson came on board as Food Service Director and began integrating farm-to-school and organics in the district meal program and education practices, school meal participation rates increased from 65 to 90 percent. Richardson made sure the foods that were grown and served reflected foods that students were eating and enjoying at home, like collard greens and leafy greens. When they started growing lettuce and have the students help in the harvest, student salad purchases rose 300% the following year.” Warren County, GA

If you’d like to initiate a garden program in your school, a workshop or presentation by a member of our team can help inspire staff, parents, administrators, and school board members. Contact us today!
