Welcome to the garden program! Spring Creek students joined us in 2022. They have a greenhouse and existing tower gardens, but wanted to expand. So last year we added raised beds and new this year, courtesy of a USDA Food and Nutrition Services grant, we are installing hydroponic tower gardens!

The kids are thrilled and best of all, we hope to serve the student-grown produce in the cafeteria, sharing the joy of their fresh harvest with fellow students. They’re off to a great start!

Spring Creek also has a culinary program that uses hydroponic towers. Just look at them grow! This produce is currently being used for cafeteria items.

Wow—look at their first harvest! What an amazing job these students have done and their fellow students reaped the benefits of this fresh produce in the cafeteria. And they just keep growing!

This team continues to grow and expand their garden program.

The towers have proved an excellent addition to their current raised bed garden (see below).

Last year we delivered four raised beds. Students and teachers handled all the heavy lifting.

Next up, soil. Black Kow generously donated a combination of pot mix and compost for the students to begin their adventure. It’s definitely part our secret sauce for vigorous plants.

All that’s left now is to plant. Can’t wait to watch them grow!
