The garden champion at Triangle Elementary is no stranger to school gardens. In fact, Jacqueline Holmes is the winner of the Florida Agriculture in the Classroom’s (FAITC) Excellence in Teaching about Agriculture Award for 2018.

Add a bit of Black Kow bedding mix and compost, and your garden will be a sure winner!

Because these kids are “expert” gardeners, they know they must thoroughly combine the two.

While these students have a beautiful mix of raised beds and hydroponic towers, there’s no reason they can’t expand upon their success. So come January, we will add beds and irrigation to their existing garden.

And these students are a wonderful example to follow. Not only do they grow fruits and vegetables, they share them with the cafeteria so their fellow students can enjoy the harvest right along with them! Now that’s what I call a win-win–and our goal at The BloominThyme Collaborative.
If they can do it, EVERY school can do it!
